Kurt Donald Cobain is an American singer, songwriter and musician best known as guitarist, lead musician and rock band leader Nirvana. Through angry compositions and an anti-founding personality, Cobain's compositions have extended the theme convention of mainstream rock music. He is often considered the spokesperson for Generation X and is considered one of the most influential musicians in the history of alternative rock. Born in Aberdeen, Washington, Cobain formed the group Nirvana with Krist Novoselic and Aaron Burckhard in 1987 and formed the group as part of the Seattle music scene that would later become grunge. After signing with the major record label DGC, Nirvana went on to become a worldwide hit with "Smells Like Teen Spirit" from her second album, Nevermind, which was critically acclaimed.
Nirvana's singer and guitarist, best known for their breakout 1991 album Nevermind, which featured the smash song"Smells Like Teen Spirit", sadly committed suicide at the age of 27 after struggling with drugs and depression during the band's peak years.
